چکیده
We present a general simulation approach for incompressible fluid–structure interactions in fully Eulerian framework using the reference map technique. The is suitable modeling one or more rigid finitely deformable objects soft with components interacting fluid and each other. It also extended to control kinematics of structures fluids. model based on our previous fluid–soft solver [Rycroft et al., “Reference technique interaction,” J. Fluid Mech. 898, A9 (2020)] generalized by constraining deformation-rate tensor projection framework. Several numerical examples are presented illustrate capability method.

Mixed Strong Form Representation Particle Method for Solids and Structures
In this paper, a generalized particle system (GPS) method, a general method to describe multiple strong form representation based particle methods is described. Gradient, divergence, and Laplacian operators used in various strong form based particle method such as moving particle semi-implicit (MPS) method, smooth particle hydrodynamics (SPH), and peridynamics, can be described by the GPS metho...
متن کاملAn Immersed Structural Potential Method Framework for Incompressible Flexible/rigid/multi-phase Flow Interaction
In this paper, a general framework for the computational simulation of Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) problems involving rigid/flexible solids and multiphase flows is presented. The proposed methodology builds upon the Immersed Structural Potential Method (ISPM) developed by the authors [1, 2] for the simulation of single-phase FSI problems. Several numerical examples are presented to showca...
متن کاملAn Eulerian-Lagrangian Approach for Incompressible Fluids: Local Theory
We study a formulation of the incompressible Euler equations in terms of the inverse Lagrangian map. In this formulation the equations become a first order advective nonlinear system of partial differential equations.
متن کاملAn Arbitrary Lagrangian-eulerian Finite Element Method for Large Deformation Analysis of Elastic-viscoplastic Solids
Analysis of large deformation of elastic-viscoplastic materials has been performed in this paper using the finite element method with the arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian description. An overstress type viscoplastic model using the internal variable approach in a rotated stress-strain space characterizes the material. Stable and efficient integration techniques for the viscoplastic relations are d...
متن کاملAn immersed interface method for viscous incompressible flows involving rigid and flexible boundaries
We present an immersed interface method for the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations capable of handling rigid immersed boundaries. The immersed boundary is represented by a set of Lagrangian control points. In order to guarantee that the no-slip condition on the boundary is satisfied, singular forces are applied on the fluid. The forces are related to the jumps in pressure and the jumps in t...
